Kostas Axarloglou is a Professor of International Business and Strategy and currently serves as Dean at The American College of Greece (ACG). He holds a B.A. from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. His academic roles include previous positions at Democritus University of Thrace, Babson College (as Michael Gerrits Term Assistant Professor), Duke University, and the University of Michigan. He has also served in corporate boards and conducted extensive consulting work.
Professor Axarloglou’s research focuses on International Business (particularly FDI flows), Strategic Options Theory, and Pricing Strategies. His work has been published in top-tier journals like Management Science, Journal of Business, and Journal of the European Economic Association. Notable studies include analyses of FDI inertia in Greece and the impact of FDI on regional economies. He has received research grants and awards including the Fulbright Fellowship and the Rackham Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.
His teaching spans all levels of business education, with multiple awards recognizing his pedagogical excellence. He remains active in academic and professional networks, including membership in the American Economic Association.
