Konstantin Daniel Haensch is a Professor in the 'Science and Theory' Cluster at HAWK – University of Applied Sciences and Art Hildesheim's Faculty of Design. He teaches Design Research, Design Management, and strategic entanglements of design with business. His work bridges theory/praxis in media culture, aesthetics, and entrepreneurship.
Education: B.A./M.A. in Communication from Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin), M.A. in German Studies at Princeton University. Prior academic roles include six years as Research Assistant at UdK Berlin’s Institute for Theory and Praxis of Communication, and visiting scholar at Chinese University of Hong Kong’s Anthropology Department.
Research focuses on materialities of modernity (e.g., smart speakers), design historiography, and interface critique. He co-founded the book series texturen and Uncanny Issues, and edited Genealogy of Media-Thinking. Recent work explores tech entrepreneurship and AI’s impact on media consumption.
