Knut Andreas

Prof. Dr. Knut Andreas is an Honorary Professor for Music History and Music Management at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam since 2017. He studied Music Education and Germanistics at the University of Potsdam and continued his musical training at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. He earned his PhD from LMU Munich and is skilled in violin, viola, piano, and bassoon. As a musicologist and conductor, he focuses on engaging broad audiences with music. He leads the Collegium musicum Potsdam orchestra and founded the 'Klassik am Weberplatz' festival, attracting over 1,000 attendees in its first year. His international collaborations include Brazil, where he explores cultural exchanges in music. He actively engages with alumni and maintains ties with his alma mater, often discussing past experiences with former colleagues.
