Kirby Trask is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice at Roberts Wesleyan College. His expertise includes Restorative Justice, Crime Victims, Juveniles, and Corrections. Prior to academia, he spent 11 years at Genesee Justice Programs, a rare agency integrating restorative justice within the criminal justice system. He serves on advisory boards for the Finger Lakes Restorative Justice Center, Employment/Consulting Referral Advisors, and Project C.O.P.E.

Kirby’s research focuses on restorative justice philosophy, criminal justice system reform, and interdisciplinary applications of victimology and juvenile justice. He actively promotes life-skills education through First Year Seminar and Senior Seminar roles, bridging academic and post-graduate success.
Additional affiliations include retired U.S. Army officer status and family life with 33 years of marriage to Sheryl, two adult children, and outdoor recreation interests.
