Prof. Kin Liao is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at King's University. He earned his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and has extensive experience in advanced materials research, including roles as a visiting scientist at NIST and Northwestern University. He was a Lee Kuan Yew Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, where he served for 13 years and founded the Bioengineering Division.

His research focuses on two-dimensional heterogeneous materials, nanomaterials and nanomechanics, and composite materials for aerospace, energy, and biomedical applications. His work also extends to fatigue prediction and space-biomedical engineering.

- Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry
He is affiliated with the Advanced Research and Innovation Center and the Advanced Digital & Additive Manufacturing Group. His current projects include the 2D-enhanced Lightweight Materials initiative under the Research Innovation Center for 2D Materials (RIC-2D). He has previously served as Director of NTU’s BioInformatics Research Center from 2004–2006.
