Kimberly Lucas

Kimberly Lucas is a Professor of the Practice in Public Policy and Economic Justice at Northeastern University's School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs. She is an academic-practitioner dedicated to community-driven civic research and innovation in city-university collaborations, with a focus on leveraging expertise for social good.

• Ph.D. in Social Policy and Sociology with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families from Brandeis University (2020)

Her research centers on early childhood policy and the child care market, informed by over a decade of experience in community-engaged research and civic sustainability initiatives. Prior to her current role, she held leadership positions such as Interim Executive Director at Metrolab Network and Director of Civic Research for the City of Boston.
