Kimberly Benson is an Adjunct Professor of Art at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). She holds an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BFA from the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, MN. Her work explores Renaissance and historical art through abstract reinterpretations, focusing on still-life, portraiture, and landscape genres. Her research interests include material processes like layering, sanding, and stenciling, alongside influences from Dutch still-life painters and Etruscan tomb art.
