Kim Pearson is a Professor of Communication, Journalism, and Film at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), School of the Arts and Communication. She co-founded TCNJ’s Interactive Multimedia Department and teaches courses in Media Entrepreneurship, Health and Environmental Journalism, and Race, Gender, and the News.

Her research focuses on computational journalism, interdisciplinary education, and community-engaged learning. She explores how STEM literacy and digital media can enhance civic engagement and social justice.
Recent scholarly work includes interdisciplinary collaborations with computer scientists to integrate computational thinking into journalism education, community-engaged projects on racial injustice, and pedagogical innovations during pandemic-induced distance learning.
