Kevin N. Pennington

Dr. Kevin N. Pennington serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the School of Sciences, and Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Barton College. Previously, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in microbiology and immunology at Vanderbilt University.

• B.S. in Biology from North Carolina State University
• Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Mayo Graduate School

His research focuses on:

• Post-translational modifications in the IKK/NF-κB signaling pathway in cancer and immune cells
• Identification of stress-induced transcription factors in the ciliated protozoan Tetrahymena

Dr. Pennington teaches advanced courses in cellular and sub-cellular biology, including Microbiology, Cell Biology, Immunology, and Biochemistry.
