Dr. Kevin N. Pennington serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the School of Sciences, and Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Barton College. Previously, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in microbiology and immunology at Vanderbilt University.
- B.S. in Biology from North Carolina State University
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Mayo Graduate School
His research focuses on:
- Post-translational modifications in the IKK/NF-κB signaling pathway in cancer and immune cells
- Identification of stress-induced transcription factors in the ciliated protozoan Tetrahymena
Dr. Pennington teaches advanced courses in cellular and sub-cellular biology, including Microbiology, Cell Biology, Immunology, and Biochemistry.
