Kevin M. Beaver is the Judith Rich Harris Professor of Criminology and Director of the Distance Learning Program at Florida State University's College of Criminology & Criminal Justice. His research focuses on biosocial criminology, genetic and biological correlates of offending, life-course development, and violent behavior stability. He holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.A. in criminal justice and sociology from the University of Cincinnati and Ohio University.
Dr. Beaver has published over 150 articles and 10 books, including Biosocial Criminology: A Primer. His work examines gene-environmental interactions influencing criminal behavior, leveraging behavioral and molecular genetic methodologies. Recent projects explore nutritional factors’ impact on psychopathic traits and the validity of twin research in criminology.
