Dr. J.C. Barnes is Professor and Director of the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Cincinnati. With a PhD from Florida State University, he researches biosocial criminology, genetic-environmental interactions, and offender decision-making using advanced statistical and virtual reality methods.
Research Focus: Barnes examines genetic-environmental interplay in criminal behavior, offender decision processes, and criminal justice system impacts across the life course. His work applies genomics to criminological outcomes and develops VR training for law enforcement.
