Kevin Judge

Kevin Judge is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Music and Academic Advisor at Iowa State University. He holds a BME in Bassoon from the University of Iowa (2010) and a MM in Bassoon from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University (2012). His roles include teaching bassoon and advising music students, alongside performing as principal bassoonist of the Des Moines Symphony and with orchestras across Iowa and nationally.

Education highlights include a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Iowa (2010) and a Master of Music from Rice University (2012), supported by the William Akers Endowed Scholarship. He also served as Education Outreach Coordinator at Rice, developing interactive classical music programs for Houston-area elementary students.

Research interests focus on music pedagogy, orchestral performance, and community engagement through music education. Performance highlights include appearances at Carnegie Hall, Brazil, France, and collaborations with renowned conductors like Lorin Maazel and Leonard Slatkin. He has participated in elite summer programs such as the Music Academy of the West and Sarasota Music Festival.

Awards include the Iowa Center for the Arts Scholarship Competition First Prize and the William Akers Endowed Scholarship. His professional activities extend to academic advising and leadership in music education initiatives.
