Kevin Hutchins

Kevin Hutchins is a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Theatre at the University of Southern Maine (USM), serving as Costume Director. He holds an MFA in Costume Design from Boston University and a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

His professional experience spans over a decade in costume design for major New England theaters, including The Ogunquit Playhouse, Maine State Music Theatre, The Public Theatre, and Greater Boston Stage Company. He has been recognized with the Virgil C. Johnson Award and two Broadway World Maine Award nominations. As a founding member of the CIC Theater Company, he contributed to youth theatre education in Boston.

In his USM role, Kevin focuses on mentoring future designers and advancing Maine's theatre community through hands-on teaching and creative collaboration.
