Kerry Livingstone is a Lecturer and Head of the BA Modern Ballet Programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), in partnership with Scottish Ballet, where she also serves as Head of the Associate Programme. She has held these roles since the programme's inception in 2009 and was appointed Head of Modern Ballet in 2014.
Her educational background includes a BA (Hons) in the Art and Teaching of Ballet and a Licentiate from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), as well as a Master’s Degree in Ballet Studies from the University of Surrey.
Her research and professional interests focus on ballet pedagogy, dance education, and teacher training, particularly within the RAD and ISTD frameworks. She has extensive experience in curriculum development and delivery for professional dance training, with a focus on high-level student achievement and accreditation.
Kerry has previously taught at the Northern Ballet School and the Dance School of Scotland, where she trained students to Solo Seal level and delivered RAD STC and ISTD Associate qualifications. She also served as Course Co-ordinator at NBS, overseeing successful OFSTED inspections rated 'Outstanding/Grade 1'.
She is also an active tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance, contributing to national and international teacher training initiatives.
