Kerry Cooke

Kerry Cooke serves as Associate Dean and Director of the School of Visual & Performing Arts and Assistant Professor in Theatre at Mary Baldwin University, overseeing the Shakespeare & Performance graduate program alongside Theatre, Music, Studio Art, Art History, Dance, and Film disciplines.

Her research integrates two core domains:

• Analysis of gender, race, and class within university curricula and performance traditions, leveraging Mary Baldwin University's history as a women's college to reshape academic programming and teach Shakespeare through intersectional feminism
• Investigation of early modern letter-writing theory, focusing on printed epistolary manuals and their dramatic manifestations in historical contexts

Her scholarly contributions appear in journals including Early Modern Culture, Journal for Early Modern Studies, and Shakespeare Studies, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement with literary and performance studies.
