Kent Brouwer is an Assistant Professor in the traditional BSN program at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. He also works as an acute care nurse practitioner at Baptist Health Lexington, focusing on pre-op medicine. Dr. Brouwer actively advocates for interprofessional education (IPE) and participates in committees related to self-care and wellness within the College of Nursing and the broader UK campus.

He is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA), and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. His work has been supported by the Sigma Theta Tau International DNP Project Grant.
