Kenneth N. Ryack

Kenneth N. Ryack is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Quinnipiac University, where he has taught since fall 2012 after holding faculty positions at Xavier University, Northern Kentucky University, Eastern Connecticut State University, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Bentley University. Previously working in accounting and finance, he maintains active CPA licensure in Massachusetts and Certified Financial Planner™ certification. His office is located in Faculty Office Building 103 (Mail Drop: SB-DNF).

Education:

• BS in Finance from the University of Connecticut
• MS in Accounting from Bentley College
• PhD in Business Administration (Accounting concentration) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst

Research Interests: Professor Ryack specializes in behavioral accounting research examining judgment and decision-making processes in financial contexts, complemented by pedagogical studies in accounting education methodology. His work extends to personal financial planning applications and cognitive aspects of financial behavior, reflecting interdisciplinary connections between accounting, psychology, and finance as evidenced by publications across specialized journals.

Teaching and Recognition: He teaches core financial accounting courses including Intermediate Accounting I (AC 305) and Personal Financial Advising (AC 371), with demonstrated excellence recognized through multiple teaching awards across several institutions. His practical industry experience enhances classroom instruction in both technical accounting and financial planning domains.
