Dr. Cynthia Sneed is a Professor of Accounting in the Department of Finance, Economics & Accounting at Jacksonville State University's College of Business and Industry. She holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and both a Master's in Accountancy and PhD from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
Her research focuses on:
- State/local government pensions and post-employment benefits
- Intergenerational equity in public finance
- Forensic accounting and fraud examination methodologies
- Ethical frameworks in accounting practice
She maintains professional credentials as a Certified Governmental Finance Manager, volunteering as an evaluator for governmental financial reports to determine eligibility for the CAFR Award.
