Kenneth Marshall is a Professor in the Department of History at the State University of New York at Oswego. His research focuses on slavery in the rural Middle Atlantic region, Black manhood, and migration patterns. He holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University (2003), an MA (1995), and a BA from Rider University (1991).
His publications include Manhood Enslaved (2011) and seminal articles on enslaved narratives and resistance. Though no specific awards are listed, his work contributes significantly to African-American and gender history.
