Kendra Phillips

Dr. Kendra Phillips serves as an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy at Western New England University, transitioning from an adjunct appointment in 2022 to a full-time position in 2025. She oversees the Pediatric B.E.A.R. Paw Center, providing students with hands-on clinical experience serving local children.

Her educational background includes:

Dr. Phillips specializes in pediatric occupational therapy with expertise in sensory-based interventions for child self-regulation, trauma-informed care, and community-based practice. Her doctoral research examined sensory strategies' effectiveness in promoting self-regulation among children, informed by her clinical experience in school-based pediatrics since 2016, group home settings, therapeutic private schools, and skilled nursing facilities.

She actively contributes to professional associations including the Massachusetts Occupational Therapy Association (MAOT) and American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), while teaching Population Health & Interprofessional Practice and co-instructing pediatric assessment courses.
