Ken Simmoteit is a researcher at TU Darmstadt affiliated with the Intelligent Autonomous Systems group in the Computer Science Department. His research focuses on Dexterous Manipulation, Vision-Language-Action Models, and Reinforcement Learning for Robotics, with emphasis on Generative AI and Manifolds & Dynamics.
He is currently working on stable imitation learning using generative models and manifold theory. His recent publication in RSS 2025 titled Diffeomorphic Obstacle Avoidance for Contractive Dynamical Systems via Implicit Representations explores advanced methods for robotic obstacle avoidance. Prior to his PhD, he earned a master's in Mechatronics and Information Technology at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and worked at the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI) focusing on robot learning.
