Kelly McFall is a Professor of History and Director of the Honors Program at Newman University. He teaches Modern European and World History classes, having joined the institution in 2005 after receiving his doctorate from Ohio State University in 1998. His academic work focuses on the history of violence, comparative genocide, and women’s sports, which he integrates into courses like Comparative Genocide, The Holocaust and its Legacies, and NSP classes exploring utopian/dystopian literature and combat memoirs.

McFall is also an author of educational games in the Reacting to the Past Series, including The Needs of Others: Human Rights, International Organizations and Intervention in Rwanda, 1994 (Norton, 2018) and co-author of Changing the Game: Title IX, Gender and Athletics at American Universities (forthcoming). Outside academia, he supports the Kansas City Royals and spends time at the YMCA or attending his daughters’ rowing and softball events.
