Kelly J Best

Kelly J Best is an Assistant Professor in the School of Technology at Eastern Illinois University (EIU). She holds an MBA from EIU’s School of Business and is pursuing a PhD in Human Resource Development (HRD) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on instructional design, adult learning, and organizational performance within workplace learning frameworks.

Before joining EIU, she served as a Training Manager for software companies in Phoenix and Chicago, bridging industry experience with academic expertise. She is actively involved in professional networks, including AHRD, AECT, and ASTD.

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as OPD 3020, OPD 4700, and multiple advanced organizational development courses (e.g., OPD 4830–4880). Her expertise spans competency development, career advancement, and experiential learning strategies.
