Kelly Holohan is a Professor, Program Head of Design and Illustration, and Director of Graduate Studies at Temple University's Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Her work bridges design activism and education, focusing on LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, health, and environmental justice.
- Education: MFA in Visual Design from Tyler School (1996), BS in Graphic Design from The College of St. Rose (1989).
As a designer activist, she co-created We the Women, a women’s rights platform, and contributes to Developing Citizen Designers (Elizabeth Resnick’s book). Her teaching emphasizes design’s role in advancing social good beyond commercial applications.
Her publications and exhibitions (e.g., Graphis Annuals, Poster House Museum) highlight themes like Quarantine (Ebola crisis) and Sorry We're Closed (LGBTQ+ rights). Awards include the 2021 Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching and Leeway Foundation’s Art & Change Grant.
