Dr. Kelly Ficklin serves as an Associate Professor and Graduate Elementary Education Program Director at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke's School of Education. With over three decades of experience, she specializes in elementary education, teacher training, and innovative educational practices. Her leadership roles include Program Coordinator of the Elementary Education Undergraduate Program and spearheading international study abroad initiatives.
Dr. Ficklin holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UNC Wilmington and additional advanced degrees from UNC Pembroke. Her research focuses on enhancing STEM education in underrepresented communities and alternative pathways to teacher licensure. She actively contributes to organizations like the North Carolina Science Teachers Association and engages in community service through educational and church initiatives.
