Kelley Robinson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Interior Architecture and Design at Florida State University (FSU). She is a registered interior designer in Florida and Georgia, and founder/president of Workshop 131, Inc., an award-winning design studio. Her research focuses on domestic space evolution, mid-20th-century architectural features, and pandemic impacts on residential design.
Education: M.F.A. in Interior Design (FSU, 2014), B.Arch. (Auburn University, 1998). Teaching areas include Studio I, CAD I, Portfolio Development II, and Design Fundamentals II.
Key research themes include spatial/temporal analysis of domestic spaces and the interplay between design practices and societal changes like remote work. Recent scholarly work explores mentorship in design careers and workplace adaptations post-COVID-19.
Awards include multiple recognitions from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), including top honors in residential and corporate design categories. Active in professional service, she co-chairs the 2024 IAD Career Fair and advises the Interior Design Student Organization (IDSO).
