Kecia M. Thomas serves as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Previously, she was Senior Associate Dean at the University of Georgia, where she specialized in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and African-American Studies. Her research focuses on workplace diversity dynamics, strategic recruitment, and career advancement of underrepresented groups in STEM.
Dr. Thomas' research explores systemic barriers in professional environments, with emphasis on intersectional identities. She has published extensively on diversity ideologies and resistance in organizations.
