Kayt Frisch, PhD, is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at George Fox University since 2023, previously serving as an associate professor there from 2019. Prior to joining George Fox, she spent eight years at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, as an associate professor in the engineering and physics departments and director of the motion biomechanics laboratory. She also chaired Dordt’s physics department from 2016 to 2019.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Calvin College (2006)
- Master’s (2008) and PhD (2011) in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison
Her research focuses on biomechanics, particularly analyzing correlations between volleyball hitting mechanics and injury history using high-speed motion capture and image analysis. She also established the Tissue Engineering and BioMEMs Lab at George Fox University, leveraging external funding from the Carver Foundation to develop lab facilities.
Kayt has secured grants for biomechanics research and contributes to biomedical engineering education. She has held academic leadership roles, including department chair, and her work spans research, teaching, and laboratory development.
