Kaustav Sen

Kaustav Sen is a Professor of Accounting at the Lubin School of Business, Pace University in New York City. He holds visiting faculty positions at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research focuses on corporate governance, financial reporting, stock price anomalies, risk management, and equity investments. Dr. Sen has been cited by The Economist and has received grants from Verizon and SAP for curriculum development in accounting education.

Education includes a PhD from Rutgers University (New Jersey) and a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. His teaching spans financial, managerial, and systems accounting, earning him the Lubin School’s Innovation in Teaching Award.

Research highlights include studies on regulatory interventions’ impact on capital access, CEO turnovers’ credit risk implications, and cross-border acquisitions by emerging market firms. His work has appeared in journals like Journal of Corporate Finance and Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance.

Awards include best paper recognitions from the American Accounting Association and India’s Securities Exchange Board. He serves on the editorial board of Journal of International Accounting, Auditing & Taxation and has consulted for firms like Prudential and GE Capital in risk management and investment strategy.
