Katrin Bauer

Katrin Bauer is a lecturer in English Language Education at the Department of English Language Education, Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies, University of Bamberg. She combines her university role with being an English, German, and history teacher at Clavius Gymnasium Bamberg.

Her research interests span innovative pedagogical approaches, including the integration of Virtual Reality and Environmental & Sustainability Education (ESD) into English lessons. She explores topics such as taboos and controversial issues, poems and song lyrics, pop culture in education, mental health songs, e-portfolios, and global education to enhance teaching practices.

Notable activities include organizing practical teacher training workshops and guest lectures on subjects like teaching with comics and multilingualism in foreign language education. Her work emphasizes theory-practice transfer through collaborations with schools and international networking.
