Kathy Tuberville

Dr. Kathy Tuberville serves as Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Management at the University of Memphis' Fogelman College of Business and Economics, where she also directs the Fogelman Women in Leadership Programs and advises the SHRM Student Chapter. With 25+ years of experience bridging business leadership and higher education, she has developed innovative student development programs and led international initiatives involving over 140 students across Europe.

Her research concentrates on leadership development, human resource management, and experiential learning methodologies, with particular emphasis on women in leadership and career readiness. Dr. Tuberville's work consistently connects academic theory with practical workplace applications through industry partnerships and student-centered programming that prepares graduates for professional success.

Recent publications examine pandemic-era talent development, HR leadership preparation, and accounting education integration, reflecting her commitment to evolving workforce needs. Her scholarly output demonstrates consistent contribution to business education literature while maintaining strong practitioner relevance through venues like HR Professionals Magazine.

Among her numerous accolades are the 2023 SHRM National Advisor Impact Award, 2022 UofM Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award, and 2015 Memphis Business Journal Super Women in Business Award. She has received multiple Fogelman College teaching awards and SHRM-Memphis recognitions including the Lifetime Achievement Award (2023).

Dr. Tuberville actively mentors students through SHRM chapter activities and international programs while maintaining professional service roles with SHRM-Memphis, CEIA, and The DeNeuville Learning Center. Her leadership extends to statewide initiatives like the TN SHRM Conference and Service TN workforce development programs.

She directs comprehensive women's leadership development through the Fogelman Women in Leadership programs, including an annual conference and professional-track programming for Mid-south working women. Her innovative student development initiatives—HR Discovery Day, HR Academy, and Professional Engagement Night—create direct pathways between academic learning and professional HR practice.
