Kathy Simmonds is a Clinical Professor in the School of Nursing at Northeastern University's Bouvé College of Health Sciences, leading Rural Health and Health Workforce Development initiatives at the Roux Institute. Her clinical background spans community health centers and reproductive healthcare settings.
She holds an MPH from Harvard and a PhD from the University of Rhode Island. As co-founder of Nurses for Sexual and Reproductive Health, she advances reproductive justice frameworks in nursing practice.
Research addresses rural health disparities, digital health literacy, and climate justice intersections with reproductive health. Current projects focus on telehealth access and social isolation mitigation in Maine communities.
