Kathy Mandelbaum

Kathy Mandelbaum serves as Associate Professor of Law at Temple University's Beasley School of Law, where she previously directed the Graduate Tax Program until Summer 2019. With 18 years of prior practice in the Estates Department of Philadelphia's Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis firm, she oversees LL.M. in Taxation, J.D./LL.M. in Taxation, Estate Planning Certificate, and Employee Benefits Certificate programs.

Her educational background includes:

• J.D. from Harvard Law School
• A.B. from Radcliffe College

Professor Mandelbaum specializes in taxation frameworks across multiple domains, with primary focus on estate planning mechanisms and regulatory compliance. Her research examines federal gift tax implications, trust income taxation, nonprofit organization governance, and European Union legal intersections with U.S. tax policy. She frequently addresses professional audiences through the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and Philadelphia Bar Association on charitable giving strategies and probate regulations.
