Kathryn Wilson

Kathryn Wilson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Classics at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and currently directs the Classics department's Ampersand program, Democracy and Myth in Ancient Greece. She is also a Faculty Affiliate of the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, & Equity at WashU.

Research Interests
Dr. Wilson focuses on Hellenistic literature, particularly the intersection of poetry and scientific themes in ancient works. Her work also explores ancient farming practices, labor studies, and critical examinations of race in Classical antiquity and modern scholarship. She actively engages in public discourse on these topics, as evidenced by her recent media contributions addressing 'race' in ancient Rome and collaborative exhibitions on race in ancient Greece and Rome.
