About
Kathryn Lesh is a Research Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Union College. She earned her B.A. from Swarthmore College and Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research specializes in algebraic topology, particularly unstable homotopy theory, with focus areas including the Goodwillie calculus, Whitehead Conjecture, and unstable Adams spectral sequences.
Her publication record demonstrates sustained contributions to topology and group theory, with recent work exploring p-toral approximations, Bredon homology, and partition complexes. Research consistently addresses spectral sequences, homotopy invariants, and algebraic structures in topological contexts.
Professor Lesh maintains office hours in Bailey Hall and can be contacted via leshk@union.edu. She serves as faculty advisor for mathematics students and participates in the Algebraic Topology Discussion Group community.
