Kathrin Peters is a Professor of History and Theory of Visual Culture at the Faculty of Design, University of the Arts Berlin, since 2014/15. She served as co-spokesperson for the DFG Research Training Group 'Knowledge of the Arts' (2015-2021) and currently manages the Institute for the History and Theory of Design. Her academic background includes communication design and media/art history, culminating in her 2007 PhD on media and knowledge history from Humboldt University Berlin.
