Kathleen Boyle

Kathleen Boyle is a Teaching Professor of Italian and Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Italian department at the University of Notre Dame. She holds a Ph.D. in Romance Philology from UNC Chapel Hill (2013), an M.A. in Italian Literary Studies from Middlebury College, and a B.A. in Classical Studies from Indiana University.

Research & Teaching: Focuses on Italian linguistics, language pedagogy with technology integration, and Italian diaspora studies. Develops innovative curricula for 21st-century language programs and advocates for alternative assessment methods like ePortfolios in language education.

Professional Roles: Editor of Lingua Italica (Center for Italian Studies), taught at UNC Chapel Hill and Florence's Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici. Active in presenting on diaspora studies-Italian Studies intersections and curriculum development.
