Katherine Van Allen

Katherine Van Allen is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Campbell University, serving as a shared faculty member across the Main Campus and online/extended campuses. She also serves as the online advisor for Campbell’s new online psychology degree program. Her roles combine teaching, advising, and research in social, cognitive, and health psychology.

Dr. Van Allen holds a PhD and Master’s in Social Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and undergraduate degrees from James Madison University and George Mason University. Her research focuses on cognitive aspects of creativity and decision-making, stereotype threat, and health disparities in underrepresented groups.

Her work emphasizes health promotion strategies and the psychological mechanisms influencing health perceptions. She is also actively involved in curriculum development for online education programs.
