Katherine Davies

Katherine Davies is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield within the School of Sociological Studies, Politics and International Relations. She completed her PhD at the University of Manchester under Professor Jennifer Mason and Dr. Wendy Bottero.

• Research Focus: Family relationships, Brexit's societal impact, sibling dynamics, qualitative methodologies, and shared housing sociology.
• Teaching: 'Intimacy and Personal Relationships', 'Innovations in Qualitative Research', and 'Sociologies of the Everyday'.

Her recent publications explore Brexit's influence on family discourse, shared housing dynamics, and creative methodological approaches. She has secured grants from the ESRC and British Academy for Brexit-related studies.

Scientific Awards: Honorary Fellow of The Morgan Centre for the Study of Everyday Life.

PhD Supervision: Current students include Laura Towers, Jiaxun Li, and Nobuko Terai. Past students are Dr. Melanie Lovatt, Dr. Jennifer Kettle, and Dr. Sarah Longstaff.
