Kate Stanley is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Writing Studies at Western University. She earned her PhD from Columbia University (2013), MA from University of British Columbia (2004), and BA Hons from Queen's University (2002). Her academic work bridges American literature, pragmatist philosophy, and aesthetic education, with a particular focus on modernist writers and their engagement with philosophical surprise. She is currently leading a SSHRC-funded project on pragmatist pedagogical methods for climate crisis contexts.
