Kate Howen is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Education (Music) at the University of Worcester's Institute of Education. With prior experience as a primary teacher and SENCo, she specializes in music education and supports teacher trainees in developing subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.
Her research examines music education methodologies, inclusive practices through Universal Design for Learning, social pedagogy, and fostering belonging in higher education. Recognized for teaching excellence, she was shortlisted for the 2023 Exceptional Personal Academic Tutor and Provost awards.
