Karin Eve Reuter Rice is a Professor at Duke University, with joint appointments in the School of Nursing, School of Medicine (Neurosurgery), and as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics. Her work bridges pediatric critical care, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and precision health, focusing on genetic biomarkers, social determinants of health, and neurocognitive outcomes.

Her selected grants include NIH-funded studies on concussion symptom stratification, parenting confidence in congenital heart defect cases, and ADHD health equity. She also served on the World Federation of Pediatric Intensive & Critical Care Services grant for environmental sensor research.
In advising & mentoring, she supports PhD and postdoctoral scholars, emphasizing interprofessional collaboration. Her professional activities include roles on Duke's Academic Programs Committee, Executive Committee of Academic Council, and leadership in the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
