Kari Christensen

Kari Christensen is a Professor of Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2024. She holds a B.F.A. in Illustration from Brigham Young University. Her career spans over two decades in freelance illustration, concept art, and art direction across gaming, entertainment, and education sectors.

• Affiliations: Professor at SCAD (2024–present); Freelance roles with Wizards of the Coast (2004–present), Bethesda Softworks (2017–19), and others.

Christensen specializes in visual storytelling and entertainment art, with recognition including the Infected by Art Silver Medal (2014) and Chesley Award nominations. She has contributed to projects for Sony Online Entertainment, Games Workshop, and Turbine.

• Awards: Society of Illustrators Student Scholarship Competition, Spectrum Fantastic Art, Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles.

Her professional experience includes roles as Senior Art Director at the Center for Instructional Design (1999–2002) and animator at Saffire (1994–95). She has also mentored at SCAD and led workshops, such as the Springville Museum of Art’s Creature Design program (2019–2020).
