Karen Pendleton is an Instructor of Voice at the University of Maine's School of Performing Arts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Wellesley College, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Maine, and a Master of Library Science from Simmons College. She is certified in Somatic Voicework™: The LoVetri Method, specializing in contemporary commercial music techniques. An active performer, she has sung with ensembles such as the Bagaduce Chorale, Penobscot Theater, and the Hancock County Gilbert & Sullivan Society, notably portraying Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus during the 1996 inaugural production of the School of Performing Arts. Beyond her university role, she maintains a private studio in Bangor and offers master classes for regional groups.
A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), her professional focus spans vocal pedagogy, opera performance, and community engagement through music education.
