Becky Morrison

Becky Morrison is a Professor of Music and Chair of Music Education at Dallas Baptist University (DBU). With 14 years of public school teaching experience in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas, she has shaped award-winning choirs, including the Outstanding Jazz Choir and Grand Sweepstakes recipients. She founded the Voices of Ada honor choir and co-founded the Ouachita Children’s Chorus, while also directing the Texas Baptist Children’s Choir in collaboration with the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

Dr. Morrison specializes in research on funding challenges in music education and contemporary teaching methodologies. She is certified in the Kodaly and Orff methods and holds Level III certification in Somatic Voicework - The LoVetri Method for contemporary commercial music. Her work bridges classical vocal training with modern pedagogical techniques.

Her accolades include grants such as the Robberson Graduate Research Grant and the Brancati Teacher Development Scholarship. She has also received the Criswell Scholarship and the Williams Music Scholarship for her academic contributions.
