About
Kamil Kijek is the Deputy Manager for General and Financial Affairs at the Department of Judaic Studies, University of Wrocław. He holds a sociology degree from the University of Wrocław and a doctorate in history from the Polish Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on 19th-20th century Jewish history in Central/Eastern Europe, interwar Jewish youth radicalization, and Holocaust dynamics. He has held fellowships at institutions including the Center for Jewish History (NY), US Holocaust Memorial Museum, and Leibnitz Institute in Munich. Current projects include leading a Holocaust-related research grant (Rothschild Hanadiv, 2023-2025) and participation in ERC-funded migration studies. His work challenges methodological gaps in Holocaust historiography and explores Polish-Jewish relations in post-war contexts.
Education: BA Sociology (University of Wrocław), PhD (Polish Academy of Sciences). Additional studies at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University, Haifa University, and University College London.
