About
Kader Attia is a Professor of Time-based Media at the Hochschule für bildende Künste (HFBK) Hamburg. Born in 1970 in Dugny, France, he was raised in suburban Paris and Algeria. He graduated from École Supérieure des Artes Appliqués Duperré (1993) and École Nationale Supéreure des Arts Décoratifs (1998). His artistic career includes solo exhibitions at institutions such as Hayward Gallery (2019), The Power Plant (2018), and Museum für Moderne Kunst (2016). He curated the 12th Berlin Biennale (2022) and co-founded La Colonie (2016–2020), a Parisian space for exhibitions and activism.
