K.J. Rawson

K.J. Rawson is Professor of English and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Northeastern University, where he directs the Humanities Center. His research integrates Digital Humanities with Rhetoric, LGBTQ+, and Feminist Studies, analyzing how archives shape cultural power.

Research focuses on queer/trans archival practices and metadata systems. He founded the Digital Transgender Archive and chairs the Homosaurus editorial board, developing linked data vocabularies for LGBTQ+ resources.

Publications explore archival representation and rhetorical frameworks. Recent work examines decolonization of digital collections and queer information activism through metadata systems.

As Humanities Center Director, he fosters interdisciplinary collaboration. Teaching includes courses on queer digital curation and archival methods that bridge theory and practice.
