Jörg Uwe Andrees is a Lecturer at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock since 2006, specializing in piano and accompaniment for the Pop and World Music degree program. He also teaches piano pedagogy for future music educators. Previously, he served as Head of the Jazz/Rock/Pop Department at the Schwerin Conservatory (1997–present) and led the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Youth Jazz Orchestra for several years. As a performer, he has worked with the Horst Krüger Studioband, rock-jazz band Bajazzo, and theaters including the Maxim Gorki Theatre and carrousel Theater an der Parkaue. He is a guest musician at the Mecklenburg State Theatre Schwerin.
Education: Studied Classical Accompaniment at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar (1980–1984). Early career included freelance work in Berlin (1985–1996) as a studio keyboardist and composer/arranger for theaters.
Teaching roles include positions at Berlin’s Kreuzberg/Weißensee/Neukölln music schools and the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts. His expertise spans live performance, composition, and music education across diverse genres.
