János Pilling

János Pilling is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Behavioral Sciences, Semmelweis University, where he works as a psychiatrist at the psychosomatic outpatient clinic. With nearly 30 years of teaching experience, he specializes in medical communication, sexual medicine, and thanatological topics.

• Developed mandatory university textbooks in medical communication and sexual medicine (Hungarian, English, and German editions).
• Research focuses: doctor-patient collaboration, lifestyle change promotion, risk communication, managing medical errors, and functional complaints.
• Pioneered work on near-death experiences and hospice care, including roles with the Hungarian Hospice Foundation and the Solar Eclipse Association.
